Task : questions about flow chart and answers to the email • Due Date: 2/26/2007
Allan,

I have reviewed carefully the flow chart you sent.

Ricardo Lopez has not submitted a scanned copy of his licence as Custom Agent (CMA), however, he is included in the official list of CMAs published by Custom Ecuadorian Authorities (please find attached to this e-mail. Lopez code # 2576). In order to gain time, Lopez is requesting me, to include in his data base, the following information:

1. RUC (Contributor Unique Registry) it is a number given by the SRI (governmental institution for taxes) in order to get it, we need an Ecuadorian institution, legally registered that will be the responsible of the importation.

2. Name of the Enterprise responsible of the importation.

3. Phone numbers of the Enterprise responsible of the importation.

4. Phone numbers of the legal representative of the Enterprise responsible of the importation.

I have called Lopez, and told me that would feel more comfortable working with us after a personal meeting. That is why I will travel to Guayaquil to meet him (on Thursday march 1st ).

Lopez usually does not transport things from the custom storeroom to a port, however, he showed willing to help to perform this task. He will do the following work:

1. To open a permit for importation.
2. To release the bulk from the custom.
3. To perform paper works to citizen the bulk.

I am still waiting for the quotation of him services that I requested. Anyhow, for your information, in order to perform the three just mentioned items, Lopez will charge to SolarQuest USD 650 plus 12% tax.

Lopez needs to know if the equipment will be imported as a consume (need an Ecuadorian enterprise) or as a donation (UN or any International ONG legally authorized by Ecuador to import free of taxes.

I have some important questions:

Who will be the Ecuadorian enterprise responsible of the importation?

I remember that in San Cristóbal we were talking that UN (UNDP) will be the importer is it right?

Or, should I identify a responsible Ecuadorian enterprise willing to be the importer?

Do you have an agreement with the benefactor of the donation?

Is this donation under the agreement between SolarQuest and INGALA?

That is all.

Have a good day,
Byron
